Leading data-based media intelligence agency UNICEPTA tracked and analyzed Chinese print and new media coverage of 15 companies from five industries (automotive, aviation, chemical, IT and pharmaceutical) during Covid-19 outbreak. 

This analysis of nearly 5,000 articles sheds light on some important lessons of managing business reputation in China, such as which topics spark journalists’ interest more than others,  why CSR isn’t just about making donations, as well as how a disaster can be turned into an opportunity. 

Evelyn Engesser, General Manager of UNICEPTA China since 2012, will present this survey and discuss pandemic-era reputation management strategy along with her Chinese colleague Rong Wang, Vice General Manager of UNICEPTA China. 

Dr. Evelyn Engesser worked as research associate and lecturer in the communications department at Mainz University, Germany and led market research unit of a business consultancy before joining UNICEPTA, a leading provider of media and data intelligence solutions in 2010. In 2012, she became General Manager of UNICEPTA China.

Dr. Rong Wang is Vice General Manager of UNICEPTA China. She has more than 10 years’ working experience in communication consulting and market research, and has supported numerous Fortune 500 brands with strategy consulting.
