Palani Mohan on Hunting with Eagles | 2018 LitFest Podcast

By Uncategorized

In the desolate Altai mountains of western Mongolia, where the winters are brutally cold, live the last of the men who hunt with eagles. Kazakh nomads have been grazing their livestock in this isolated region for hundreds of years and only the toughest survive here.

But this is a culture under threat. There are no more than fifty to sixty “true” hunters left and each winter claims a few more. His images are an enthralling and timely record of these noble men and their magnificent eagles in a dramatic and unforgiving part of our planet.
